Christmas

Christmas has already come and gone! I can't believe how fast it came and went. I was fortunate to get Christmas Eve off, and was able to go home on Monday, and stay until Christmas. Joe also got Christmas Eve off, so we at least got to spend one day together. On Christmas Eve, we went to my grandma and grandpas house. We have done that ever since I was born. We always go over to their house after church, and open gifts, and stockings, and eat chilli. On Christmas day, we went to my aunt and uncles house! We just eat on Christmas day, we don't exchange gifts! I am thankful for that, we have enough gifts to buy! Its nice to just be able to sit and chat with family!

After Sunday, I won't be working for about a week! I am so pumped. On New Year's Eve we are going down to Fairmont, and staying at my house. On New Years Day its my grandpa's birthday. My family is hosting his birthday party this year! After his party is over, Joe and I will be heading down to his sisters wedding! It has been a busy week, and the next one looks like its going to be just as busy!

December

Well the first part of December is going by really fast. Yesterday my grandmother came up and took me birthday shopping and out for supper! She let Joe come with, which I was happy about because it was our "sunday" together, and didn't want to give one of my days off with Joe up. It would be different if we saw each other during the week, but we usually work pretty opposite shifts, like today I worked 10-5 and he worked 3-11. Tomorrow I work 9-5 and he works 3-11 again. Which is usually a typical week for us.

I got a few things from my grandma for my birthday, although this was the first year that I didn't spend the amount my grandma has to spend on us. I just wasn't in the mood for shopping. I got "The Grinch", a scarf, and some earrings, and body spray. I am really lookinig forward to Christmas, and New Years! I get a break from work, well at least at New Years. Joe's sister is getting married, out of state, so we get a little vacation! I am so pumped! I am sick of working, and I am sick of the crabby shoppers, who don't read COUPONS!

I am excited for Christmas to be over! But I am always sad when its over too. I love the decorations and lights! I hate taking decorations down, it makes me sad. I am excited for work to slow down. But again, I need the hours. I am just torn on whether I want Christmas to be over!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

This week is the first I am actually working 40 hours cashiering at Gordman's. I will let you know how it goes on Sunday when I am done with my last shift for the week. Last week was a little upsetting, Joe and I didn't see each other the whole week/weekend of Thanksgiving, because our work schedules were opposite! It was very hard to make it through that week!

I have started my Christmas shopping and think I am almost done. I will hopefully finish this Monday and Tuesday because I don't work. My grandma is coming up and taking me shopping on Tuesday for my birthday. She has done this every year since we were little. She always takes us out for lunch, and then buys us a gift. I am excited because I don't get to see her very often anymore. I don't get home as much as I used to, and when I do, I always leave right away. I had so much more time when I didn't work! Haha go figure. Although I got prettty bored, I miss it sometimes, I wish I could just be lazy one day! I am looking forward to Christmas, to see family, but I will probably end up working Christmas eve, and the day after Christmas, so I won't be home for long. I hate working at a department store!

Black Friday and beyond...

My Thanksgiving with family was great! I wish I could have stayed home longer. I also survived my first hosting of a holiday! Wasn't to hard since I didn't have to make any of the hard food. I had to come back to Mankato on thanksgiving night because I worked at 6 am the next day! I also worked all weekend, which was so fun! It wasn't to bad. The only thing that bothered me was that Joe and I worked opposite shifts the whole weekend, and I got home on Thrusday night, but didn't "see" Joe until tonight (sunday). Of course I saw him when he or I got home from work, for a quick goodnight, have a good day tomorrow, and then off to sleep!

I am excited for the next two days off. I hope to put up the rest of my Christmas decorations! I already have the tree up!

Thanksgiving!!!

I am so excited for Thanksgiving! Its my favorite Holiday! You get all the good food, without all the greedy kids wanting all their presents! Also my birthday is the day before thanksgiving! I hope I don't have to work. I took it off, and will find out tomorrow if I have to work or not!

Joe has to work on Thanksgiving. It doesn't bother him, but I wish he could come home with me, and have a good meal! His parents and sisters are coming up the Tuesday before to have Thanksgiving with Joe! So I guess it is kind of my first time hosting a get together! Even though I don't have to make the Turkey, which I am very thankful for, I still have to clean and make a salad! If I can just get through this week of work, thanksgiving will be here!

Birthday Shopping!!

Yesterday and today Joe took me shopping for my birthday. He has been saving money for the past couple of months and took me on a shopping spree for my birthday this year! It was so much fun. I got to pick out so many things, and the best part was I was shopping, and the whole day was about me! Joe was such a good sport, and always wanted to make sure I was having fun, and getting things I wanted.

On Monday, we left in the morning, (not to early, I still wanted to sleep in) drove up to the Medford Outlet Mall, its called something different now, but I don't know what it is. Stopped there, because Joe likes to go to the Nike Store. Then we continued on our way to the cities. The first stop was Ikea. I was really excited when we got there. We walked around the whole store, and went downstairs to start the real shopping! I ended up getting some place mats, and big mirror, and some candles! Now, we were off to the mega mall.

We decided to eat right away because we were meeting my parents for supper, and didn't want to not be hungry when we ate with them. We chose to eat at Bubba gump place in the mall, we had both never ate there. It was good, I had shrimp, Joe had a steak sandwich. I probably won't chose to eat there again, but it wasn't bad.

After lunch more shopping! We stopped at a decoration store. Here I got four little snowman candle holders! One of my favorite gifts that I got. After that we decided to leave the mall, and head to the one in Burnsville. It was getting a little late, and I still had shopping to do! When we got the mall in Burnsville I was wearing down, A LOT! We didn't get anything at the mall, but then we went to target! I had seen a CD at the one in Mankato that I wanted and of course this target didn't have it. I got a shelve at target and we found a birthday present for my sister! YAY!

After that we went home, it was getting late and we still needed to meet my parents! Today we went to Kohls, where I got a purse, and some coasters. We went to target in mankato so I could get my CD!

It was so much fun shopping, I got so much stuff, and It was just an awesome day with my husband!

Working Weekend

This weekend was my first working at Gordman's. It brought back all those terrible memories of working at shopko during weekends, when it was crazy busy with people everywhere. Once I got the job, I had decided that I was going to take a break from apply for jobs for awhile. I have changed my mind. I don't know how long I can take working at Gordman's. Its a nice job for a little more income, which we need. But I can't wait to get a job, that actually has something to do with my career.

I work today at 2 and I work til 10. Joe worked this morning, 7-3. That really sucks. I work completly opposite of him. At least we both have monday and tuesday off to spend with each other. I am glad that I told them I could not work mondays or tuesdays. I don't think I would make it through knowing that I would be working and Joe wouldn't, and we wouldn't have anytime to spend together.

Lots of Changes!!!

The last week or so has been full of a lot of changes in our lives. A week ago Friday, Joe and I went to look at some cars over in New Ulm. Well, we found one we really liked, and I wanted to get it right away. We have been talking for awhile about getting another car. We only have one car between the two of us, and when I get a job we will need two. Also, the one car we have, isn't the most reliable thing in the world, so we talked about getting a better car.

We discussed the car, and I had a few interviews the week before, and was pretty confident I would be getting one of the jobs. I would find out on Monday if I got the job. So Joe and I decided to wait the weekend, and if I heard on Monday that I got the job, we would go over and get the car too.

On Monday, I got the call that I got a job at Gordman's! That afternoon Joe and I drove over and got the car too! So within a week, I had a job, and we got another car! So many changes!

Life is starting to get pretty busy. With me working days and Joe working nights we don't get to see each other as often as we like. But Joe has Monday's and Tuesday's off, and I told Gordman's that I couldn't work Monday's or Tuesday's either, so at least we have two day's together!
